A GROWING TREND FOR RUGS IN INTERIOR DESIGN
The wool used in Royal Tibetan rugs is 100% highland Tibetan wool, the rarest and most durable wool.
This wool comes from Tibetan sheep that are indigenous only to the high plateaus of the Himalayan Mountains.
In such harsh climate, a sleep creates a wool fiber that is extra long, extremely durable and highly saturated with lanolin.
The lanolin produces a natural strain resistance and keeps the wool from drying out over the years.
It also creates a beautiful, rich patina as the dye soaks into the wool.
It creates a natural lustrous, yet soft and subtle variation in color.
Utilizing a wide array of tools, including color renderings and the Royal Custom Pom Box,
our design consultants work with you to develop and refine your artistic vision.
The rendering process permits you to explore a number of options with both design and color,
providing a glimpse of what your rug will look like. Whatever you can imagine, we can create!
After the rendering process, when you’ve decided the look and feel of your custom rug,
a strikeoff – a small 2′ x 3′ sample – is produced so that you can see and feel an actual woven sample of your rug.
Color renderings are great, but nothing compares to holding a small piece of woven art in your own hands.
If the strikeoff is what you had envisioned, then it’s time to move on to final production –
you are now just weeks away from owning a piece of art and culture that is certain to bring a joy.
